2012 Conference President's Message

Are you ready for the future?  Measurement Science Conference 2012 will focus on the future of our science and the challenges that we face moving into the future.  As man’s knowledge doubles in a shorter and shorter time frame, our ability to keep pace with new technologies might seem overwhelming.  To aid us in facing the growing challenge, MSC 2012 will focus on new techniques in the Science of Measurement for Commercial, Medical and Government applications.
The goal of the Measurement Science Conference is to provide a professional training forum and venue to advance education, renew and expand professional contacts and partnerships, and provide emerging ideas, insights and innovations in our profession.  I hope you will join us for an informative and enlightening MSC.  Please consider taking the NIST Seminars (Monday through Wednesday), the MSC 2012 Tutorial Workshops (Tuesday and Wednesday) and the Technical Programs on (Thursday and Friday) as a unique and valuable part of the MSC experience.  Also consider the Hands-On Workshops on Friday for practical calibration training for your company’s technical personnel.  In addition to the education aspects of the conference there will be over 100 exhibitors displaying their products and techniques that support our science.
This year’s conference offers a special opportunity that occurs once in a decade.  The Ninth International Temperature Symposium (ITS9) will be held in conjunction with MSC 2012.  Experts from around the world will be joining us to conduct their once every ten years symposium to determine how to measure temperature on a global basis.  With over 200 papers being submitted we will have poster sessions to share this valuable information to all that attend.

Please join us March 19 through 23, 2012, at the Disney Convention Center, in Anaheim, California.  It is your participation that will keep the conference and our profession alive and successful.

Bob Everly, MSC 2012 President
